AC Video Solutions is currently looking for freelance Audio Video Installers with commercial experience to work in professional office settings, schools, and live office environments. Work will be performed throughout Metro New York and New Jersey as well as surrounding areas on a project by project basis.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Be able to regularly climb and work from ladders or scaffolding up to heights of 15 feet.

  • Lifting equipment, tools and materials. Loading and unloading equipment weighing up to 80 pounds.

  • Ability to solder and crimp A/V, broadcast and Ethernet connectors.

  • Assist with and perform installation tasks in a timely and quality conscious manner.

  • Duties may include but are not limited to: Pulling cable, installing connectors, projector or TV monitors   
    mounting/hanging (ceiling mounts) and metal fabrication.

  • Perform installations of 70.7 volt and distributed sound systems, projectors and screen support structures,
    ceiling and wall-mounted speaker systems.

  • Lead a crew of two to six junior installers.

  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.

  • Assist with mechanical fabrication and basic rack wiring.

  • Limited travel and work at various job sites along the east coast of the U.S.

  • Deliver equipment while maintaining detailed inventory catalog.

  • Mentor less experienced technicians.

  • Maintain a minimum of 85% reported/coded time to specific jobs.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Ability to think and work independently and meet necessary deadlines.

  • Positive and effective interaction with employees, customers and colleagues.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to work overtime when necessary.

  • General knowledge of networking systems.

  • PC computer proficient with problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Understanding A/V display and video conferencing equipment, applications, and functionality.

  • Demonstrates experience completing technical installation of audiovisual systems.

  • Experience with Crestron, Extron, AMX, and Aurora control systems is desired.

  • Equipment rack fabrications.

  • Site preparations, roughing in and trimming out various types of projection screens, paging speakers and
     surround sound speaker systems.

  • Patch / repair penetrations and damaged walls and ceilings from previous work. Taping, spackling, and
     light painting.

  • Termination of audio and video equipment, Phoenix connectors and soldering XLR connectors.

  • Ability to troubleshoot audio, video, switching and control systems problems.

  • Experience installing projectors, screens, monitors, speakers, smart boards, white boards.

  • 3-5 years of commercial and residential AV systems installation experience is required.

  • Requires working knowledge of commercial construction environments (low voltage power, conduit
     installation, core drilling, etc.).

  • Excellent communication and computer skills (Google Drive, Google Sheets and Docs, Gmail).

  • CTS certification and scissor lift certification is desired but not mandatory

  • Rigging experience is a plus.

  • Detail oriented.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

AV Installer must:

  • Pass a background check and drug screening.

  • Possess a reliable vehicle and have a valid driver's license.

  • Submit professional references to verify work history with a minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience.

  • Be honest and act with integrity toward each other, our customers and our staff.
